Ok, so far i think W7 is pretty good, and much better than Vista, i have been using it for about 5 hours now! The following things i have noticed an improvement on or really like:
  • Battery Life is much Longer than Vista when using the same power plan (1 Hour Versus 1.5 Hours)
  • The Superbar is much more functional, and the features on it are not just gimmiky, all are genuinely useful
  • CPU performance is better and my processor seems more 'powerful' under 7 opposed to Vista
  • WMP 12 and WMC now support .ACC music files, which i am really, really pleased about!

Thats some of the things, i will hopefully update sometime soon!

Got it installed!

Ok, last night i downloaded the W7 Beta from the Microsoft site, this was after a long wait, because Microsoft decided that they needed to beef up their servers to allow for the mountains of people trying to download the Beta! Originally i got bored of waiting and started to download the W7 Beta from a torrent site, but it was taking so incredibly long, it just wasn't worth it! So i went onto the MS USA site as soon as the Beta was available for download! I managed to get a much better download experience, and the .ISO file (i used 32 Bit) downloaded in about 2.5-3 hours, due to our utterly crap download speed! After that i burnt the .ISO file to a disc, using ImgBurn, to create a Bootable disk, although by that time it was about 1 AM, so i decided to get some kip!
This morning i created a partition on my Hard Drive, for about 15GB, to do a test installation, (have Vista installed as main OS) unfortunately installation did not go smoothly due to me burning the disc at to higher speed (3x) the installer could not find the file it wanted, so another DVD, and burnt the second DVD at 1x, this time it worked perfectly!
It took about 45 Mins to install W7, which is about right for my computer spec!
Next i will post about how i am getting on!
